Day Sixteen.
So! The final day of our first tour of America. Like all good things do, it had gone by very quickly. We’re not going to lie, by this point we were all broken. Because of this, a lot of the day was spent micro-napping, and hugging sofas. sub sequentially, not many photos surfaced.
We excitedly reached the city of Boston, stoked to be playing the somewhat legendary House Of...
Day Fifteen.
The day started as a dream like stomp through an empty airport. Then back to our rented van parked in a hotel car park just a few miles down the criss-crossed interstate ramps. The shuttle to said hotel took forever. Good job we were all experiencing a sleep deprived, mildly hallucinatory high.
The grey, rainy day reinforced the cities grizzly and smoggy preconceptions.

Day Fourteen.
Waking up confused, and very hungover on a inflatable mattress somewhere in suburban Austin. Awaking to find our host… and repeating most of the previous nights conversation, due to alcohol related memory loss.
We got up (slowly), and had a look outside. The sun was already burning hot in the Southern sky. The tinged kiss of the Spring sun was an amazing sensation. It seems...
Day Thirteen.
We had another early start today… The time has come for us to fly over to Austin, TX for our SXSW showcase set. We were nervous, but excited! We woke up in New Jersey, then headed back to New York to catch our flight from JFK. The city is becoming a bit of a hub for us, although passing through the lower Manhattan traffic every day is becoming a tad tiresome. Can’t...
Day Twelve.
Today we went back to New York City for a duration that lasted more than thirty minutes, finally! We woke up in a roadside motel in New Jersey. The first thing that greeted us by the day was an FBI most-wanted billboard.
We left the concrete wastes of New Jersey, down the snug road of the Lincoln tunnel. A tricky drive, that one. Being on the opposite side of the car makes for a...
Day Eleven.
Today we had a day off in Washington, DC. We started the day by going down to the river. It was awesome.
We’ve never been anywhere like this before. It was incredible. We followed the Cherokee river up it’s quiet bank for a few miles, finally taking in the reality of this beautiful country.
We’re really looking forward to Chris’ Minolta film coming out...
Day Ten.
We each rose from a sleep echoed with the calls of drug dealers and gang bangers to the waking realization that it was high time to get the hell out of Philadelphia. We’re not sure if we just had a bad experience of this place, or it’s one of the most sketchy cities on the planet. We’ll come back a second time for a more conclusive decision.
We were all pretty...
Day Nine.
Bit of an up and down day today. We started the day at the crack of dawn to take a detour back to NYC. We had to swap over Chris’ bust guitar head for one of a more functioning nature. We had a pretty questionable (but free!) breakfast, then headed off into the frosty expanses of Pennsylvania.
The journey (like most early morning drives) went quickly. Most of us were asleep...
Day Eight.
The day started pretty normally. We’ve been here for over week now - it’s now all considered normal. We headed out from Richmond, towards Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Our first EVER headline US show!
We hit some pretty bad traffic curving round DC. Really looking forward to coming back this way to see the sights. I think it will be our Brit tourist day, for sure.
We...
Day Seven.
Hard to believe that we’ve been here for a week. Time flies, huh? This morning we woke up 10 minutes before check out. Day off lie-in - It’s a bit of a treasure on the road. We piled in the van and took a little detour to Virgina Beach, just down the road from Norfolk.
Another beautiful sunny morning. Bad weather is pretty much unheard of here. We’ve already been...
Day Six.
Had a bit of a lie in today, then headed out the door toward Norfolk, VA. The photos are a bit boring and blurry today. Our apologies.
Pulling over for another tank of gas… Spotted this - pretty good.
Sorry about all the thumbs in these photos! The cold wind is preventing us from keeping our hands anywhere besides our pockets for too long - so one snap is all we can usually...
Day Five.
Today we had to leave Atlanta. Which sucked. The Southern charm was intoxicating, and the long awaited first sight of sun this year was not under appreciated. Back toward the East, where the snow storms are eagerly awaiting us… But first, North Carolina.
The drives here are crazy. An average drive in the US is the stuff of nightmares back home. It’s taking some getting...
Day Four.
So… Our first show day has reared it’s head. I think it’s the most nervous we’ve ever been. We’re excited to see just how different an American crowd can be!
We started the day with waffles again. The high sugar, high fat continuity of the American foodstuff is starting to become a little too intense. I don’t think we’ve seen any fruit or veg...

Day Three.
Another long-ass day of driving today. Roanoke, Virginia all the way to Atlanta, Georgia. It was an absolutely beautiful drive, but we’ll get to that later. We woke up surrounded by wild deer in a backwoods motel after a freezing cold nights sleep. Virginia is a beautiful place, filled with incredibly friendly and warm people. This was the view outside our hotel room.

Day Two
Right. First thing’s first. We got Chris’ cat on the New York news this morning. They told us to tweet in photos of our cats for ‘super cat saturday’. So we did. Check it out.
Fuck yeah. Senor Bazman. They actually said that on national news.
Then we waited (for what seemed like an age (since we all woke up at 06:30) for our rental van to turn up. What a treat...
Day One of our American Adventure.
Grey, rainy UK day. Looking forward to getting away for a while. First thing’s first… Picking up our visas from London.
Then we got to Heathrow Airport. Mandatory killing-time beer was in order. Nice and pricey! (Check out the demon child in the background)
There was a weird, calming air about the airport. No sprinting to flight gates or...
